Basketball is not just a sport in the Philippines — it is a national obsession. You see it in every barangay: makeshift rings nailed to coconut trees, kids playing three-on-three in narrow alleys, street vendors crowded around a small TV watching the PBA. The Philippines is one of the very few countries outside the United States where basketball genuinely competes with football as the sport of choice. So when phzz decided to build its sports betting section, basketball was always going to be front and center.
The PBA — Philippine Basketball Association — is the oldest professional basketball league in Asia and the second oldest in the world after the NBA. Filipino fans follow it with an intensity that rivals the NBA, and the rivalries — Ginebra vs San Miguel, TNT vs Magnolia — carry the same kind of generational passion you see in European football derbies. phzz covers every single PBA game across all three conferences: the Philippine Cup, the Commissioner's Cup, and the Governors' Cup. Odds are published as soon as the schedule is confirmed, and they update in real time as the game progresses through quarters.
UAAP basketball is another major draw on phzz. The university rivalry between DLSU, Ateneo, FEU, UP, and UST brings out a completely different kind of passion — school pride is everything, and alumni from all over Metro Manila and beyond place their bets on game days. phzz covers the full UAAP Season men's and women's basketball tournaments with pre-match and live in-play markets, including quarter-by-quarter betting, player prop bets, and same-game parlays.
For NBA fans — and there are millions of them in the Philippines — phzz runs one of the most comprehensive NBA betting menus available to Filipino players. Every regular season game, every playoff matchup, and every Finals game is covered with 40-plus markets per match. That includes standard Moneyline and Spread bets, Over/Under totals, Asian Handicap lines, player points and rebounds props, first-quarter leaders, and more. Live betting lets you place wagers during the game as odds shift in response to what is happening on the court — a trailing team cutting into a lead, a star player picking up early foul trouble, a momentum swing in the fourth quarter.
FIBA international tournaments — including the FIBA World Cup and Olympic qualifiers featuring the Philippine national team, Gilas Pilipinas — are fully covered on phzz. When Gilas plays, the phzz platform sees a massive spike in betting activity, with Filipino fans pouring in to back the national team. Those games also tend to generate the biggest single-bet totals of any basketball event on the platform.
One feature phzz players consistently praise is the Cash Out option for live bets. If you placed a pre-match bet and the game is not going your way at halftime, the Cash Out button lets you settle the bet early for a partial return rather than losing the full amount. Conversely, if your team is romping ahead and you want to lock in profit before the final buzzer, Cash Out handles that too. It gives bettors a level of control that simply does not exist in traditional sports betting.
Deposits and withdrawals on phzz are built around the Filipino lifestyle. GCash is the default option for most players — fast, familiar, and available on every smartphone. Maya and GrabPay are equally supported. For players who prefer traditional banking, BDO, BPI, and UnionBank online transfers all work seamlessly with InstaPay and PESONet. The minimum bet is just ₱20, making it easy to put a little something on the PBA game tonight without committing a large amount.
phzz also runs basketball-specific promotions tied to the Philippine sports calendar. During PBA playoffs, there are parlay boosts — if you combine two or more PBA games on a single bet slip and all legs win, your payout is multiplied by an extra percentage. Special promotions also run for Gilas Pilipinas games, UAAP Finals weekends, and the NBA Playoffs bracket challenge, where players predict results for bonus prizes separate from their regular bets.

Whether you are a casual bettor or a seasoned handicapper, phzz has the market for you.
The simplest bet — pick which team wins the game outright. No point spreads, no conditions. Just pick your side and win if they win.
One team is given a virtual point advantage or deficit before the game starts. Eliminates the draw outcome and gives better odds on strong favourites.
Bet on whether the combined score of both teams will be higher or lower than a line set by phzz. Does not matter who wins — only the total points count.
Place bets while the game is happening. Odds update every few seconds as the score changes, momentum shifts, and key players heat up or cool down.
Combine multiple game selections onto one bet slip. All legs must win, but the odds multiply together for significantly larger potential payouts.
Bet on individual player performance — points scored, rebounds, assists, or whether a specific player hits a double-double in that game.
Representative odds for upcoming PBA games on phzz. Actual odds update in real time on the platform.

Follow the PBA standings closely. Teams in the top four of the standings are rested more strategically heading into playoffs. A team coasting in a regular season game plays differently than one fighting for seeding — and phzz odds often do not fully reflect that.
Use live in-play betting on phzz when a strong team falls behind early. PBA teams like San Miguel and Ginebra have strong second-half comebacks on record. A live underdog line when a favourite is trailing by 10 in the first quarter can offer excellent value.
For UAAP games, factor in the crowd effect. Home court and student crowd support can swing close games in the final two minutes — teams playing in front of their home student section at the MOA Arena or Araneta tend to have better late-game focus.
Parlay bonuses on phzz reward multi-game bettors. If you have strong reads on two or more PBA games the same night, combining them with the parlay booster active can be more efficient than separate single bets.
Start with small stakes while you are learning a new market. The ₱20 minimum bet on phzz is there for a reason — use it to track your predictions before scaling up bet sizes on markets you are comfortable with.
Sports betting is at its best when it adds excitement to the game you already love — not when it creates stress. phzz provides deposit limits, session time reminders, and a self-exclusion tool for any player who needs to step back. Never chase losses on a bad night; set a budget per session and stick to it. Your financial wellbeing matters more than any bet.

Genuine feedback from players betting on basketball across the Philippines.
"PBA betting on phzz is on another level. Odds are always up before tip-off, the live updates are smooth, and my GCash cashout last week came through in literally 4 minutes. Other apps I've tried take hours. Hindi na ko aalis dito!"
"I mainly bet NBA pero yung PBA section nila is very detailed — pwede ka mag-bet by quarter, may player props pa. Won ₱18,500 on a SMB + Celtics parlay last month. The parlay boost made a big difference sa payout."
"UAAP season is when I go all-in on phzz. Ginebra fan ako pero I also bet Ateneo when the odds are right — walang personalan, business lang. The live odds change so fast during the game, super exciting talaga mag-watch while you have a live bet running."
